EARLY DEVELOPMENT

NURSERY, PRESCHOOL AND EARLY DEVELOPMENT

Why Should My Child Do Sports?
Children as young as 2 are capable of learning how a tablet or phone works because they want to learn!
The same way lights and video captivate them, our sessions are planned to grab their attention too. Once a child starts walking, they want to try more physical activities and have a thirst for knowledge. We aim to plant basic technical skills in their early memory banks and develop core movement skills.
To aid their progression and confidence, encourage a healthy lifestyle and prevent childhood obesity, our team have developed a specialist framework for the delivery to 0 – 5 years. We are not saying that you should stop your child from learning technology when they can walk, but make sure that there is a balance in their Early Years Development. We try to use sports to help with other areas of the Early Years Curriculum and prepare for school readiness.

PROSTARS AND WHAT WE DO

Prostars have been delivering an early development service at School/Day Nurseries, Pre-schools and Children Centres for 0 to 5 years since 2007, with courses focused not just on a physical level but on a technical, social and psychological level too.

Development in confidence and social skills, gross and fine motor skills, agility, balance and coordination are all taken into account and sessions are a good lead into school readiness. Classes are carried out by our uniformed licensed coaches who have all worked on and delivered programmes specifically for the 0 to 5-year age range. Coaches are all FA, DBS, Safeguarding and Emergency Aid-certified, fully insured and carry F.A. photo ID.

CERTIFIED PROGRAMMES CARRIED OUT BY QUALIFIED COACHES

Physical activities are a fundamental part of a young child’s development. Worldwide studies have found that physical activities encourage brain activity and, with our carefully planned development programme, we have had some outstanding outcomes in the 0 to 5 year ages. We also cover a full range of sports and physical activities, for a healthy balanced education and wellbeing for all Nursery and Pre-School children. Our Coaches consider each child in their planning and our classes are assessed on the 4 corners principle, namely Physical, Technical, Social and Psychological. We supply age-appropriate equipment and supply session plans for each of our classes. These are a good way of showing Ofsted and parents what part of physical development is taking place, as well as the involved progressions and outcomes.

DEVELOPMENT CLASSES WITH PROVEN OUTCOMES

We have been delivering sessions and courses for local authorities for more than 5 years, as well as specialist sports programmes with targeted aims at Bromley Council Children and Family centres. We are running programmes in Let’s Play Sports, Sports with Dads and Get in Shape, all aimed at helping educate parents on the importance of a healthy lifestyle for the whole family.
We can also offer training for Nursery staff on how to deliver successful sports classes for their settings. These can be arranged as weekly 1-hour classes for 6 weeks or a full-day intense course at your setting.
